David and Suzanne McCue met at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, the outstanding culinary school from which they both earned degrees in 1993. Upon graduation, the two traveled the country, working in various atmospheres, marinating in the different flavors of America that would eventually inspire the Wilton Food Company's American menu.
In 1997, with five years of experience under their aprons, Dave and Suzanne finally felt it was time to settle down. They moved back to Connecticut, got married, and decided to start a restaurant. Unfortunately, funding for their ambitious endeavor was low and they were unable to find a location that would suit their needs. So they happily continued working both at local restaurants and for private customers, all the while honing their skills, developing their unique styles, and widening their love for great food.
In 2002, they purchased a location in the Campus Plaza of the Wilton Center and the Wilton Food Company was born. Dave did most of the internal construction himself, which allowed him to customize the entire space to meet the demands of the restaurant. He chose to leave the kitchen open, putting in a counter instead of a wall permitting him to interact with his customers and deliver truly personalized dining experiences.
Word eventually spread that the WFC had something special and the business began to flourish. David and Suzanne became personal chefs for everyday, making local families a part of their own. We invite you and your family to come join us and taste the experience yourself.
